Legology
It may seem a little out there, but my intent for this project was to put people in different scenarios and see what they came up with
I hosted a party, and put a lot of lego on the table and created different circumstances(environments for creation)
I didnt let people in on what I was doing untill the end of the night.
The first thing I did was remove some of the more obvious build sets from the box and take the instructions away. (a few of my friends are avid lego builders, they rise to the occasion)
I ask them if they have it in them to tackle the imposible
The second thing I did was offer prizes, in the form of small monetary prizes for anyone who could complete their build without instructions. It surprised me that even for 20$ everyone opted in to keep the instructions.
the third thing I posed in conversation was the use of lego in unconvential means.
discussion went from the adaptation of lego into building blocks we now use as room decor. to any unconventional ways they use lego in their life.
ways we could use lego as new styles in archtecture and different buildings they felt were inspired by lego. a general thought was how the new library being built reminded them of connects
Left over pieces
Atmosphere in the room
Instruction books i took from kits
Random instructionless builds. These pieces are the left overs from builds
Peoplewere using Lego as fashion
I think what were the important things that this experiment was the idea of this idea be accessible and approachable to people. I wanted to address this idea and concept of waste that's produced when you're not educated in making something. Real world examples being the recycling system we have and the stickers to educate you on how to recycle... I end up checking them every time.

It was also important the idea of turning this invisible idea into a physical form . This quote is what really brought on this idea I liked the idea of taking these wasted Lego pieces and having people build with them
